Arvid Lindblad has passed his UK driving theory test, the Racing Bulls driver has revealed on Instagram.
The 19-year-old scored 46 out of 50 in the multiple-choice section, comfortably clearing the pass mark of 43. In the hazard perception element, Lindblad recorded 52 out of 75, above the required threshold of 44.
Both sections of the UK theory test are taken in the same sitting, and candidates must clear the pass mark in each to receive an overall pass.
Lindblad's certificate now gives him the green light to book his practical test, which covers an eyesight check, vehicle safety questions, general driving ability, reversing manoeuvres and a period of independent driving.
Under UK rules, a passed theory test remains valid for two years, meaning Lindblad has that window to sit and pass his practical before having to retake the theory exam.
The milestone comes as Lindblad continues his impressive rookie Formula 1 campaign with Red Bull's sister team, following yet another points finish in the Spanish Grand Prix.
Lindblad has 31 points to his name so far this season, with Racing Bulls sitting fifth in the constructors' standings on 77 points after the Madring.
Lindblad's rise through the junior categories saw him graduate to F1 this year as one of the grid's youngest drivers, and his theory pass adds a routine, road-going milestone to a season that has otherwise been about circuits rather than the Highway Code.
Attention now turns to the practical test, and to Baku, where Lindblad and F1 head next for round 15 of the championship on 24 September.
