Mercedes have unveiled a special one-off livery for this weekend's Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia, with additional Petronas turquoise added to the W17 to mark the title sponsor's homecoming.
The race at the Sepang International Circuit represents Formula 1's return to Malaysia for the first time since 2017, with the event relocated from Bahrain following the postponement of the original race earlier this season.
For Mercedes, the occasion carries particular significance given Petronas' long-standing association with the team and its status as the Malaysian oil giant's home race.
The W17's existing livery already features Petronas' signature shade, with the colour forming a prominent flow line across the car.
For Sepang, Mercedes has increased the presence of the turquoise shade across the design, creating a more distinctive look for the one-off event.
Petronas has been Mercedes' title and technical partner since the team's return to Formula 1 in 2010, while the company was also the title sponsor of every Malaysian Grand Prix held at Sepang between 1999 and 2017.
Mercedes' drivers George Russell and Kimi Antonelli will therefore race in front of Petronas' home crowd as the team returns to a circuit where it has enjoyed considerable success.
The team has secured one victory at Sepang, with Lewis Hamilton winning from pole in 2014. Mercedes drivers have also recorded eight podium finishes at the circuit, while Hamilton claimed four consecutive pole positions between 2014 and 2017.
